Hello all, this week on the Advanced classes we are training the Kata Guruma or “Fireman’s Carry” take down. Also on the ground we are training the Two Hands Collar Choke and the beautiful Bow and Arrow Choke.
Here is a video with our Professors and Coaches performing the techniques on tournaments.
Remember, one of the differences between a White Belt and a Black Belt it is the time of training. The Black belt have already practice a specific technique more than 1000 times! So he can mastery it.The more we train the better we get!
Have a Great Week!
GB Team

Hi All,
Take a look at Professor Flavio’s blog for one more article complementing the series “The Five Fundamental Principles of the Gentle Art”. These articles are being written together with professor Marcio Feitosa and published at Tap Out Magazine every month.
The 5 Fundamental Principle of the Gentle Art: Effectiveness
Jigoro Kano was a man ahead of his time. He played a major role on developing the educational aspect of martial arts by realizing that it could benefit society in general and not just fighters or soldiers.

After taking into consideration the requests of numerous students we have made some changes to the class schedule by adding a few more days of training.
As the GB Arkansas academy continues to grow and become a more mature school, we will recognize the need for additional training to ensure the growth of our students and instructors. After just under 3 years GB Arkansas has built a solid foundation based on the principals of Master Carlos Gracie Jr and the GB Association. In keeping with the Gracie Barra mission statement, “To train body, mind and spirit through the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction as a vehicle for individual development and the strengthening of the family spirit, going beyond the ‘winning-losing’ or ‘contest’ philosophy.”
At the heart of the Gracie Barra Family’s extraordinary success over the years is our strong philosophy and mission as a group, a foundation which our masters laid many years ago, but is constantly made stronger by all of the great people involved in our community.
Jiu-Jitsu is a beautiful art, and we have a vision of how it should be taught, as well as how our community should work together for common, powerful, and positive goals. To achieve this vision, we must remember to come together as a family, always putting the team in front of oneself. For that, we will fight to the end for what we believe is right.
We wish you all a Happy and safe Holiday weekend this 4th of July and look forward to seeing you at the beginning of the week as we launch the new class schedule.
See you on the Mats.
